The Tucson Clay Co-op is now offering indoor & outdoor wheel throwing and hand building for adults. We are also offering "Play With Clay" (listed under adult classes, kids, & family - 3 hours, one time)
COVID PROTOCOL: All students at the Tucson Clay Co-op are required to show proof of full vaccination prior to your first class. If vaccines are not an option for you, you may attend our outdoor classes. Both indoor and outdoor students are required to wear MASKS.

FULL SCHOLARSHIPS for kids and family "Play with Clay" through CAUSE as well as kids and family classes.
Students must buy their clay from us - no outside clay.
Both indoor and outdoor students have the opportunity to purchase practice hours . - Monday, Wednesday Saturday and Sunday Noon to 3pm - $40 for 8 weeks. That's 96 hours of practice time for $40.
CANCELLATIONS will be refunded before the first day of class. There will be no refunds after the class has started. If a class is filled or you are unable to enroll on line please email firstname.lastname@example.org

Independent Studies for Glazing
$55 monthly. If you buy the clay from us, this includes bisque and glaze firing and opportunity to glaze at our studio You are assigned your own shelf. With full vaccination you may glaze indoors, If you are unvaccinated, you must present a negative COVID from the last 72 hours prior to each of your outdoor glazing sessions. Another option is that you pay by the pound, buy glazes from us, and glaze at home.
Outside Wheel Throwing and Hand Building
with free outdoor practice hours: M W S S Noon to 3pm
Our wheels & tables are located over 6 feet apart. Masks are required.
The teacher will be available to answer questions, give guidance & do demonstrations. Usually first class is hand building, second class is a wheel lesson and third class etc are individualized depending on what you want to pursue.
FYI Evenings and weekends fill the fastest.
Play With Clay
Play with Clay
We have set up this space especially for couples, for visiting potters & tourists.
Proof of full vaccination or a negative test is required prior to your "play with clay" session.
It is an opportunity to play with clay under a canopy in our front yard or on our clay mobile for 3 hours including clean up time. There is 2 potters wheels, 1 tables, a bag of clay, aprons and tools.
Once you sign up, you will be sent a video of Maxine's beginner
wheel lesson by email.
Price is for maximum of 3 people, if you need more (maximum 6) it is $25 additional
$50 for 3 hours with no instructor present
$100 with one hour of instruction (usually during your first hour) Pay $50 two times.

Suggested hours, 7 days a week, 10am to 1 pm 1 to 4pm or 5 to 8pm
Cost of firing: It is not necessary to save your work, but if you want
small pieces can be fired and glazed (color of your choice) for $5 (up to 5X5X5 inches)
more for larger work.

We are asking that all indoor students to text

Masks required. If buy clay and a tool kits if you are a new student ahead of class, so your teacher does not need to take class time on business your first class. Your teacher will give you your clay and tools at your first class.
You can ask to be put on a waiting list if the class you need is full.

Try your hand at the potter's wheel in the company of friends. Everyone must present proof of full vaccination or test negative 72 hours before the party. Price includes firing of one pot. This is limited to 8 people on a first come first serve basis.
If you want additional pots fired - the price is $5 per piece.

20 lbs. Recycled Clay
Only purchase recycled if you are a new beginner student registered in either a beginner or new level class. Your teacher will give you your tool kit (available below) and your clay the first day of your class. (Right now we have no recycled clay for outside people.)
